The Spanish footwear sales organization has just turned 40. The foundation stone was laid in 1969 that its founder started selling Spanish footwear in Germany after carrying out a market survey for Spain's Board of Trade on the possibility of exporting Spanish shoes to Germany.

The business started in 1970 during the first Spanish footwear week organized by the company Contact in Frankfurt.

By adapting the production to the taste of German consumers and offering an excellent customer service regarding orders and deliveries, the company experimented an immediate success.

The company continued organising footwear weeks and participated in Fairs involving leading Spanish manufacturers. The response of the market was overwhelming and soon professional advisors and specialized collaborators were incorporated in order to expand the distribution to the rest of Europe.

In 1973, after three years of its beginning, the company was already selling two hundred thousand pairs within a year, and after six year one million pairs were reached.

In the year 1977 Contact Organización, S. A. set up an own branch in Germany, and shortly afterwards, also in Benelux and France. By the mid-eigthies Contact Organización,S.A. was well established as a distributor of good quality footwear and it was then that Contact decided to exploit it's image by creating it's own brands and boosting a worldwide distribution of cork footbed insoles. Together with the owner Javier Anton of the Spanish factory Ivan Continental, Contact launched the "Bio" Comfort shoes into the market. It resulted as a successful idea: sandals, slippers and mules guaranteed comfort and hygiene appealed to all the customers.

The trademark "Big Tree" created by Contact obtained an incredible increase in a very short time: The production caught up with an output of over 40000 pairs a day.

To meet the challenges of global competition, Contact Organización,S.A.has developed a sophisticated strategy: The comfort / bio related production, continues as a key product of it's sales, but at the same time, the company has diversified its ranges and models to achieve an increasingly wide offer. It was and it is still very important for us to prepare the collections in collaboration with international designers. In the meantime we offer all over the year, apart from the main collections of spring/summer and autumn/winter, new groups, which meet the actual demand of the markets.

Short term deliveries, quality control and a specialized customer service are in first place for us. These are the characteristics which differentiate our company from others, and they also have enabled Contact to be one of the most successful footwear sales organizations in Europe.
Our philosophy for the future is not only based on fashionable shoes but also on the development of ecological and healthy footwear. Our ranges could be a very attractive offer for the shoe business.
